There has been no link change, but server location has, but the server move and ADSL move are not quite in sync, hopefully back up soon.

Extremely annoying as we can't see what's on when and if I need to book holidays :x

A useful tool for when you are having problems with a web site http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ Put the web address in the box and it will tell you if the fault is with you or for everyone.

I can’t understand why the club doesn’t get the forum hosted on a proper server as it wouldn’t cost much out of the club funds, every time I want to look on the forum it’s down or bust and I don’t mean just the last 3 weeks ish, I’m afraid that I have just about had my fill of it to be truthful, there is no wonder people are starting to look into different hobbies these days, just my 2p worth!!

Now where is my tin hat

Skippy I agree but more annoying is the lack of info, there are other sites that people vist and something could be posted there, instead of us having to keep asking.

Hi Bob,
Some information has been issued but it's that thin and doesn't help many members out to be honest :( I know Robert tries to keep people informed but he can only tell what he knows, I myself think the whole thing stinks and should be sorted out properly but, I get a feeling that it will never happen and just get pushed under the carpet at the end of the day :( People will only be messed around for so long before they will say sod it and go else where, I myself cant see me rejoining this year :(

Right time for tea :)
Cheers Skippy.

ls it a conspiracy....... No

Or a new revelation as to how we are being screwed by the Government yet again ........No

Is it Luxembergs version of BT screwing up.........Yes

Just good old fashioned balls up, and thats all it is.

When we did the Ally Pally show we had a few people telling us they couldn't get access to the site, kept getting rude messages apparently.

As I live in Belgium and have moved house since we have been hear I’m in a position to tell people what it’s like to change address and have your new Internet connection fitted, in England you would give a weeks notice and have your new connection fitted well within the week here it’s the complete opposite even though you may have given them in Belgium’s case 2 TV, Phone and internet providers 6-8 weeks notice the chance of having your new connection fitted within 3 weeks is extremely poor 6-8 weeks is not un-heard of, when we first moved hear our initial connection was 3 month’s and we gave them notice, customer service hear is best described as none existent

That maybe becasue they are using a web browser thats based of safari (apples web browser) type code, I was hoping that the rejection notice had been reworded, I'm guessing not

Neil phoned Humpy at the time and he explained that there had been some issues with idiots getting onto the site so a message had been put on it, way above my knowledge levels

Hope things get sorted soon, what on earth did we do before the internet :?: :?:

All,

I can only apologise for the problems we've been having recently with the UKTC's web presence or lack of it. Nothing would give me greater pleasure than be able to announce that all will be well by a particular day or date but I can't. Instead of feeding everyone false hopes I thought it best to keep stoom and only announce something when we had some concrete information but perhaps that wasn't the best course of action. Again for that I apologise. I can assure you that it was not my intention to keep everyone in the dark.

Yes we have a very good arrangement at the moment with no cost to the club, but maybe it's time that we use a commercial hosting service? This will cost the club more. This has only dawned on us in the last couple of days and unfortunately, myself and Howard, who I'll have to call upon to help reconstruct the website and Forum elsewhere, and gang have a few days off from tomorow in Somerset but I can guarantee that we will be on the case when we get back. As much as I love the UKTC I won't be giving up my little choo choo holiday to fix the website/forum so can I please ask you all to be patient while we restore what we had.

Another thing, myself, Robert and Howard are not professional website designers and do what we do in our spare time so please remember that. If anybody's got more experience than us (and that wouldn't be hard) we'd be more than happy for the help!
